Round Table 3 Child Educational Trust
 

ABOUT THE TRUST
 

	The Trust was formed with an intention of aiding and supporting academically bright children through their post school professional education. The idea of such a trust was conceived by Vishnu Reddy who was then the Chairman of the Round Table.
	The Trust has been constituted vide a Trust Deed dated 4th March 1996 and has been registered under Section 12A(a) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
	The Trust is registered under section 80G of the Income Tax Act,1961 And donations to the rust are eligible for deduction under section 80G of the Income tax Act.

FUNDING CRITERIA

 

	Only candidates with outstanding academic performance and undergoing post school professional education.
	Only part of the tuition fees (max 75%) are funded and not capitation fees, hostel fees, transportation, etc.
	Candidates must be from economically weak backgrounds.
	All candidates and parent/ guardian have to be personally interviewed by the trustees.
	Payment will be made only directly to the Institution by cheque/ pay order and not as reimbursement to the candidates/parents etc.

APPEAL

 

	Every year the trust supports 10 to 15 students through their professional education. Most of the students are doing Engineering.
	The trust currently has a corpus of about Rs. 30 lakhs. Due to the decline in the rate of interest offered by Banks the Income of the trust has been reducing, year after year. Due to this the trust is able to support lesser number of children.
	The corpus of the trust needs to be increased to at least Rs. 50 lakhs to make up for the reduction in interest income.
	It would be of interest to note that 100% of the income of the trust is used for charitable purposes and no portion of the income is used for administrative costs, etc.
	All donations may be made by cheque favouring Round Table 3 Child Education Trust – A/c. No. 3778, Indian Bank, Casa Major Road Branch, Egmore, Chennai – 600 008.
